A comfy outfit
Very rarely it is something brand new or very fashionable. It is a miracle I became persuaded to newer, sporty technologies – for many years I practiced in whatever I came across, as long as I could move in it. I still prefer to exercise wearing cotton, however, I make an exception for tailored tops, t-shirts from breathable materials and bras. These must involve a proper design.
Most preferably a light one, as I move around on my feet most of the time. That’s why I chose Amelia Light.
A bag for trifles
There was a time when I went to classes like a heavyweight champion – a separate bag for my mat, another one for the exercise clothes and a third one for all of the rest of my stuff. Now I’m trying to put everything together and – if possible – do not take any unnecessary objects.
The absolute minimum
Body oil, which paradoxically absorbs much faster than any cream or body oil. I can jump into my clothes without hesitation, right after the shower. Facial oil serum – I have no idea what’s in it but it works as a cooling compress on my reddened post-workout face. And an obligatory arnica ointment. It’s a typical “Harel” thing to get bruises from each slight indentation, therefore I have my body fully covered in constellations of little bruises after an ashtanga session. Arnica makes the bruises hurt less and disappear faster.
When I practice at home
My dog Łatka knows it’s strictly forbidden to get on my mat, which she obeys only during the asanas that involve all of my limbs. As soon as she notices I don’t have any way to chase her away (e.g. the downward facing dog) she lays down right in the center of the mat below me. To be honest, I can’t imagine practicing at home without her. Those curious little doggy eyes are the best motivation!
